BANNER ELK, N.C. – Junior Lepreece Lynch scored a team-high 17 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field to help lead the Lees-McRae College men's basketball team to a 85-77 victory over North Greenville Tuesday in Conference Carolinas action. The win snaps a two-game losing skid for the Bobcats as they improve their record to 5-13 overall and 4-6 in conference games.
North Greenville shot nearly 70 percent from the field (68.8 percent) in the first half, but nine turnovers by the Crusaders allowed Lees-McRae to hang around. The Bobcats' reserves totaled 26 of the team's 35 points in the opening half to help the Bobcats take a 35-32 lead on the Crusaders heading into halftime. Lynch and Chad Hicks led these efforts from the Bobcat bench with seven points each.
After totaling just 67 points between them in the first half, both Lees-McRae and North Greenville found their respective offensive grooves in the second half scoring 95 points combined. LMC got the better of the Crusaders scoring 50 points in the frame to seal the 85-77 win. The Bobcats finished the second half shooting 69.6 percent from the field, which is the highest mark the team has shot this season in any half.
In addition to the performance by Lynch, Donte Falls also finished in double figures with 12 points and grabbed a team-high five rebounds. Senior Jonathan Honore dished out seven of the team's 17 assists and added nine points in the victory.
