BANNER ELK, N.C. --- Freshman Colin Frie scored his first collegiate goal, but the Lees-McRae men's soccer team was doubled up by No. 14 Limestone, 4-2, in Conference Carolinas play Wednesday evening at Tate Field in Banner Elk, N.C.
The Saints (6-0, 3-0 CC) remain perfect on the season after a pair of goals from Gui Machado and Louis Robles. The Bobcats (2-5, 2-2) saw junior Tyler Pavlet (Goodyear, Ariz.) make five saves.
LC took a 1-0 lead at the 15:29 mark when Robles finished off a Sebastian Gregersen pass across the net.
LMC's Thomas Deeley (Oxford, England) tied it with a free kick from 25 yards out on the right side.
The Saints scored three unanswered goals in the second half in a span of 11:35 to push the lead to 4-1.
Machado scored twice while Robles tallied his second goal of the contest during the run.
Frie (Holly Springs, N.C.) cut the deficit to two when he headed in a Tyler Oakley (New Bern, N.C.) pass over Greg Purvis.
The assist was Oakley's first collegiate point.
Deeley led the team with four shots.
The Bobcats face a tough test in No. 7 Pfeiffer Saturday, Sep. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Tate Field.
