  • Freitas and Sobel named to All-Conference Carolinas teams

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – Lees-McRae College men’s volleyball players Keenan Freitas (Hilo, Hawaii) and John Sobel (Holbrook, N.Y.) were named to All-Conference Carolinas teams the league office announced Friday afternoon. The two honorees are the most for the program since 2013 when the Bobcats had four players received All-Conference honors.
  • Rudy Klaas named Academic All-Conference

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – Lees-McRae College men’s volleyball player Rudy Klaas (Dakar, Senegal) was named to the Academic All-Conference team Tuesday afternoon. Klass is now a two-time Academic All-Conference honoree.
  • Men’s Volleyball falls in three to Mount Olive in opening round of Conference Carolinas Tournament

    MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The sixth-seeded Lees-McRae College men’s volleyball team fell in three sets to third-seeded Mount Olive in the opening round of the Conference Carolinas men’s volleyball tournament Tuesday night. With the loss, the Bobcats finish their 2017 season with a 10-17 record which is a nine-win improvement from last season.

    TIGERVILLE, S.C. – Five different members of the Lees-McRae College men’s volleyball team had at least six kills to help lead the Bobcats to a 3-0 sweep (26-24, 25-23, 25-21) of North Greenville Saturday afternoon in Tigerville, S.C. The win improves LMC’s record to 10-15 overall and 8-9 in conference action.

    MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's volleyball team fell in three sets to Mount Olive Saturday afternoon in Conference Carolinas action. The set scores Saturday were: 25-20, 25-17 and 25-18. LMC moves to 9-15 overall and 7-9 in conference play with the defeat.

  • Reto Pfund named Conference Carolinas Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – Lees-McRae College men’s volleyball player Reto Pfund was named the Conference Carolinas men’s volleyball player of the week by the league office on Monday. Pfund is the first Bobcat to be named player of the week since the 2015 season when former Bobcat Brady Markle received the honor.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Senior John Sobel powered the Lees-McRae College men’s volleyball team to a thrilling 3-2 (26-28, 23-25, 25-18, 25-21, 15-11) comeback victory over Emmanuel (GA) College Saturday afternoon at Banner Elk Elementary. The victory, which is the team’s fourth in a row, improves LMC’s record to 9-13 overall and 7-7 in conference play.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s volleyball team rallied from dropping the first set to upend Belmont Abbey College in four sets Tuesday evening at Banner Elk Elementary School. The victory improves LMC’s record to 7-13 overall and 5-7 in conference play. The five league wins by the Bobcats are the most for the team since the 2013 season when they notched 10 wins in conference.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s volleyball team will wrap up its home schedule with three matches this week against Belmont Abbey Tuesday, Erskine Friday and Emmanuel (GA) on Saturday. The first two matches are slated for 7 p.m. start times, while Saturday’s tilt will begin at 2 p.m. All three matches will be played at Banner Elk Elementary School as the restoration of Williams Gymnasium continues.

    MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s volleyball team snapped a four-match losing skid with a 3-0 sweep (25-18, 25-16, 25-22) of Pfeiffer Saturday afternoon. The victory moves LMC’s record to 6-13 overall and 4-7 in league play. Additionally, with the win it marks the first time since 2011 that the Bobcats have won the season series from Pfeiffer.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College men’s volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-16) decision to Lindenwood Saturday night in Bristol, Tenn. The match against the Lions was the final non-conference tilt for the Bobcats this season, and the loss drops LMC’s record to 5-13 on the season.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's volleyball team will hit the road for three matches this week. LMC will begin the week with a match at King (Tenn.) Wednesday before traveling to Pennsylvania for a pair of matches at Penn State against Stanford Friday and UC Santa Barbara Saturday. Wednesday’s match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start time, while the matches at Penn State are both slated for 5 p.m. first serves.
