BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's basketball team will face its toughest test of the season Saturday as it travels to take on No. 13 Limestone. The game against the Saints is set to get underway at 2 p.m.
Last Time Out – LMC dropped a 100-85 decision to Mount Olive last Saturday. The loss moved the Bobcats' record to 1-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Minutes for Markia – Sophomore Markia Stacey has averaged more minutes played (36.6) than any player in the Conference Carolinas this season. Stacey ranks 16th among Division II players in minutes played per game with William Jewell's Maddie Nelson leading the nation averaging 39.43 minutes per contest.
20/20 – Alexis Ammons has logged at least 20 points in each of her last two games. Ammons scored 21 points at Emmanuel on Nov. 29 before scoring a career-high 23 points last Saturday against Mount Olive. The Asheville, N.C. native currently ranks second on LMC's squad averaging 12.7 points per game.
Fourth Quarter – The Bobcats have been outscored in every quarter this season except the fourth quarter. LMC has won the fourth quarter outscoring opponents 142-139. The 142 points for the Bobcats are the most in any quarter this season.
Second Half Surge – After not scoring in the first three quarters against Mount Olive, Brea Forbes scored 18 of LMC's 29 points in the fourth quarter. Forbes's 18-point output is the most for any Bobcat in any quarter this season. Saturday's performance also marked a season-high in points for Forbes.
Last Season against Limestone – The Saints won both meetings between the two teams last season by scores of 82-60 and 83-68. If the Bobcats can pull off the upset it will be their first win in the series since the 2008-09 season.
