Women’s Lacrosse drops a decision on the road at Mount Olive Saturday

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's lacrosse team fell on the road to Mount Olive Saturday afternoon by a score of 22-1 in Conference Carolinas action. The loss moves LMC's record to 1-3 overall and 1-2 in conference action.

Mount Olive controlled the pace of play from the outset of Saturday's contest. UMO won 22 of the 25 draw controls on the afternoon and outshot the Bobcats 46-7 in the game. In addition to those two categories, Lees-McRae committed 23 turnovers and 35 fouls in the matchup against the Trojans.

Senior Constance Madden netted LMC's lone goal Saturday for her sixth of the season. In net, the Bobcats split duties between Samantha Thomson and Dayna Decesare. Thomson, who started the game, made nine saves in 20 shots faced, and Decesare stopped five shots in 16 attempts.

LMC will return to action Wednesday when it hosts UVa-Wise at Tate Field. The game, which will be the team's first home game this spring, is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start time.
