BANNER ELK, N.C. --- Freshman Katie Jo Daniel notched her second goal of the season, but the Lees-McRae women's soccer team fell to Pfeiffer, 2-1, in a Conference Carolinas match Saturday afternoon at Tate Field in Banner Elk, N.C.
The Falcons (3-3-1, 2-1 CC) held an 8-0 advantage in shots in the first half while five players had multiple shots in the contest. The Bobcats (2-7, 2-2) saw sophomore Alexis Feely (Raleigh, N.C.) produce seven saves.
Feely made four stops in the first half while PU's defense didn't allow the Bobcats to get a first-half shot off.
The Falcon's Kirsten Martin broke a scoreless tie at the 59:51 mark when she finished a Ryanna Hammond pass and squirted the ball through the left side.
PU doubled the advantage when Macy Rutledge split a pair of defenders and dumped a ball over the top of an outstretched Feely.
Daniel (Griffin, Ga.) hammered a ball from the top of the box to cut the deficit to one.
She paced the team with two shots and currently is tied for the team lead in goals.
The Bobcats welcome Limestone Wednesday, Sep. 28 at 7 p.m. for a CC tilt at Tate Field.
