JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. --- A trio of Lees-McRae women's indoor track & field records fell over the weekend while the teams participated at the East Tennessee State University Invitational in Johnson City, Tenn.
Freshman Kyandra Anderson (College Park, Ga.) broke her own record in the women's 200-meter dash with a blistering time of 26.11 seconds.
Anderson joined Makayla Estep (Moravian Falls, N.C.), Alexandria Flint (Blue Bell, Pa.) and Erin Bingham (Jefferson, N.C.) to shatter the 4x400-meter relay by seven seconds. The quartet turned in a time of 4:11.70 to break a 10-year old record 4:18.
Sophomore Bingham continued her impressive Bobcat career by clipping an 11-year old record in 60-meter hurdles by turning in a time of 9.11 seconds.
On the men's side, senior Malcolm Peeler earned two top-10 finishes in the long jump and triple jump.
Peeler grabbed 10th in both events by amassing a leap of 6.64 meters in the long jump before registered 11.52 meters in the triple jump.
Sophomore Cody McNeely turned in a time of 2:00.88 in the 800-meter run to claim ninth.
Coach Ley Fletcher and the Bobcats will split the teams to travel to the JDL Hilton Gardens Invitational and Appalachian State Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C. and Boone, N.C., respectively on Jan. 30.
