Set 1: Mount Olive started quickly to begin Friday's contest scoring the first three points. Battling from behind, the Bobcats eventually pulled ahead of the Trojans 23-22 in the late stages of the first. Despite the valiant comeback by the Bobcats, UMO scored the next three points to upend LMC, 25-23.
Set 2: The second set was where Mount Olive found its offensive groove. The Trojans hit a match-high .310 on 42 attempts with 18 kills in the stanza alone to power past the Bobcats, 25-18, in the frame. Although the Trojans hit nearly 200 percentage points higher than LMC, the Bobcats were still close in the frame as the score was tied as late as 17-17.
Set 3: Much like Mount Olive did in the second set, Lees-McRae came out swinging in the third. LMC hit a match-high .324 with 16 kills on 37 attempts on its way to a 25-17 win over the Trojans. The eight-point advantage to close out the third set tied for largest lead for the Bobcats in the match.
Set 4: UMO closed out Friday's match with large runs in the beginning and at the end of the fourth set. The Trojans began the fourth scoring seven of the first eight points before closing out the stanza on a 7-0 run on their way to a 25-14 win over the Bobcats.
