  • Bobcats battle but fall in four to Belmont Abbey

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – After winning the first set 25-23, the Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team dropped three straight sets to Belmont Abbey College Friday evening (25-19, 27-25, 25-15) in Conference Carolinas action. The loss moves LMC to 3-15 overall and 1-8 in league contests in 2017.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team announced Wednesday that Friday’s match against Belmont Abbey College will be the squad’s Dig Pink/Dig Teal match. Lottery tickets will be given to receive a free teal water bottle, courtesy of the Bobcat Club, in memory of Meme Brown. Brown is a LMC volleyball alum who passed away from ovarian cancer.

    WISE, Va. – The University of Virginia at Wise rallied after dropping the first set to the Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team to down the Bobcats in four sets Tuesday evening in non-conference action (18-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-10). The loss moves LMC’s record to 3-14 on the season.
  • Women’s Volleyball has three matches on tap this week

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – After playing just once in the past seven days, the Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team will get back into the swing of things this week with three matches at UVA-Wise Tuesday before hosting Belmont Abbey Friday and Bluefield State Saturday. The first two matches will begin at 7 p.m., while Saturday’s contest will begin at noon.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-14) decision to King (Tenn.) University Saturday afternoon in Bristol, Tennessee. The loss moves LMC’s record to 3-13 overall and 1-7 in conference play.

    WILSON, N.C. – Backed by an offense that hit .282 for the match, Barton College upended the Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team in three sets Saturday afternoon (25-14, 25-16, 25-18). The loss drops to LMC’s record to 3-12 overall and 1-6 in league matches on the season.

Friday’s match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start, while Saturday’s tilt is set to begin at 2 p.m.
  • Bobcats take down Erskine in four to pick up first conference win of 2017

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team picked up a 3-1 victory (25-19, 25-15, 18-25, 25-22) over Erskine College Saturday afternoon at Williams Gymnasium. The win not only marks the first Conference Carolinas victory for the Bobcats this season but it was also the first win for the Bobcats over Erskine since 2014.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – After winning the first two sets of its match Friday against Emmanuel (GA) by scores of 25-20 and 25-23, the Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team dropped the final three sets 25-22, 25-12 and 15-12 to fall to the Lions, 3-2. With the loss, the Bobcats move to 2-10 overall and 0-4 in conference play.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team will have a busy week coming up as it has three matches over a five day stretch. Lees-McRae will begin the week with a trip to Bluefield State Tuesday before hosting Emmanuel (GA) Friday and Erskine Saturday as a part of the homecoming festivities. Tuesday’s and Friday’s matches will begin at 7 p.m., while Saturday’s will start at 2 p.m.

    BELMONT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team fell in four sets to Belmont Abbey College Saturday afternoon (25-21, 25-12, 22-25, 26-24) in a Conference Carolinas contest. Senior Courtney Weathersbee led the Bobcats with her fifth double-double of the season with 32 assists and 10 digs Saturday.

The win improves LMC’s record to 1-7.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team has three matches on tap this week. The Bobcats will begin the week with a match at home against University of Virginia at Wise Wednesday evening before venturing out on the road to take on Shaw Friday and Belmont Abbey Saturday. Wednesday’s match is slated for a 7 p.m. start time, while Friday’s and Saturday’s are scheduled for 6 p.m. and noon, respectively.

    TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team rallied from a 2-0 deficit against North Greenville Saturday afternoon to force a fifth set but it fell just short as the Crusaders won the deciding frame to upend the Bobcats, 3-2 (25-21, 25-22, 24-26, 25-22, 15-12).

The loss drops LMC’s record to 0-6 overall and 0-1 in league matches this season.

Friday’s first serve is slated for 7 p.m., while Saturday’s match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
  • Fayetteville State downs Lees-McRae in three

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Sophomore outside hitter Lexi Zangari totaled a season-high 11 kills in 19 attempts but it wasn’t enough as the Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team fell to Fayetteville State in three sets (25-21, 25-21, 25-20) Tuesday evening in Williams Gymnasium. With the loss, Lees-McRae drops to 0-5 on the season.
  • Martin breaks all-time dig record but Bobcats fall in four to Lenoir-Rhyne

    HICKORY, N.C. – Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball player Madison Martin made some program history Saturday afternoon at Lenoir-Rhyne as her 13 digs set the program’s new all-time record for digs in a career with 1,242. Despite Martin’s her teammates’ best efforts, Lees-McRae dropped a four-set decision to LRU (25-16, 22-25, 25-11, 25-19) dropping its record to 0-4 on the season.
  • Women’s Volleyball hits the road to Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team will travel to Hickory, N.C. Saturday to take on Lenoir-Rhyne in a non-conference matchup. The match is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m.
  • Women’s Volleyball drops a pair of matches on day two of the Bobcat Classic

    MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team dropped a pair of three-set decisions on day two of the Bobcat Classic Saturday in Milledgeville, Georgia. First, Lees-McRae fell to Anderson (S.C.) in straight frames (25-10, 25-14, 25-18) before falling in three to Georgia College, 25-14, 27-25 and 28-26. With the results Saturday, the Bobcats drop to 0-3 on the season.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team will open its 2017 season with three matches in Milledgeville, Georgia this weekend. The Bobcats begin the weekend with a 3 p.m. tilt against Valdosta State on Friday before taking on Anderson (S.C.) and Georgia College Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
  • Women’s Volleyball selected eighth in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team was picked to finish eighth in the Conference Carolinas women’s volleyball preseason poll the league announced Friday. Seniors Rachel Cutshaw, Madison Martin and Courtney Weathersbee were named players to watch for the squad in 2017.
  • Women’s Volleyball receives AVCA Team Academic Award

    LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team received the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2016 season Monday afternoon. The Bobcats were one of 822 teams to receive the honor this season, and it marked the first time Lees-McRae has earned this award since 2013.
  • Women’s Volleyball unveils 2017 schedule Friday

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's volleyball team unveiled its 2017 schedule Friday afternoon. The 26-match slate includes nine matches at newly-renovated Williams Gymnasium. LMC’s 2017 season will begin Aug. 17 with an exhibition match at NC Central.
