  • Five Lees-McRae women’s volleyball players earn Academic All-Conference honors

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – Five members of the Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team were named to the Academic All-Conference team the league office announced Monday. All five honorees from LMC were members of its senior class in: Rachel Cutshaw, Madison Martin, Whitley Starnes, Siarra Walker and Courtney Weathersbee.
  • Bobcats close out their season with a 3-0 sweep of Mount Olive on Senior Day

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team sent its seniors out with a win Saturday afternoon at Williams Gymnasium as the Bobcats picked up a 3-0 sweep over Mount Olive (25-19, 25-21, 25-23). The victory puts a cap on LMC’s record for the 2017 season at 7-18 overall and 4-10 in league matches.
  • Bobcats battle but fall in three to Barton

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team gave league-leading Barton College all it could handle Friday evening at Williams Gymnasium. The Bobcats held leads in two of the three frames but dropped each of them to the Bulldogs by scores of 25-21, 25-23 and 25-22.
  • Women’s Volleyball falls in four to Fayetteville State

    FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team dropped its final non-conference match of the season Tuesday night to Fayetteville State, 3-1 (25-18, 17-25, 25-13, 25-23). The loss moves LMC’s record to 6-17 on the 2017 campaign.
  • Women’s Volleyball closes out its regular season with three matches this week

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team will close out its regular season with three matches this week. LMC will begin the week with its final road match of the season when it heads to Fayetteville State for a non-conference tilt on Tuesday. The Bobcats will then close out their regular season with home matches against Barton on Friday and Mount Olive on Saturday. Saturday will be the team’s senior day. Tuesday’s and Friday’s matches are set to begin at 7 p.m. with Saturday’s beginning at 2 p.m.
  • Bobcats pick up a 3-0 victory at Converse Saturday

    SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For the third time in its past four matches, the Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team picked up a 3-0 victory over its opponent as the Bobcats swept Converse College Saturday in straight sets (25-23, 25-18, 25-19). The win moves LMC’s record to 6-16 overall and 3-9 in Conference Carolinas play.

    GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team fell in four sets to Limestone College (25-23, 25-15, 14-25, 27-25) Friday night in Gaffney, S.C. The loss moves LMC’s record to 5-16 overall and 2-9 in league play.
  • Bobcats pick up second league win of the season in a 3-0 sweep against King

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – For the first time this season, the Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team won back-to-back matches as it defeated King (Tenn.) University in three sets (25-13, 26-24, 26-24) Tuesday night at Williams Gymnasium. The win improves LMC’s record to 5-15 overall and 2-8 in Conference Carolinas play.
  • Bobcats prep for three conference matches this week

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team will play three Conference Carolinas matches this week. LMC will begin the week at home hosting King (Tenn.) on Tuesday before hitting the road to take on Limestone Friday and Converse Saturday. Tuesday’s and Friday’s matches are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., and Saturday’s will start at noon.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – After winning the first set 25-23, the Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team dropped three straight sets to Belmont Abbey College Friday evening (25-19, 27-25, 25-15) in Conference Carolinas action. The loss moves LMC to 3-15 overall and 1-8 in league contests in 2017.
  • Women’s Volleyball set to hold Dig Pink/Dig Teal match Friday vs. Belmont Abbey

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team announced Wednesday that Friday’s match against Belmont Abbey College will be the squad’s Dig Pink/Dig Teal match. Lottery tickets will be given to receive a free teal water bottle, courtesy of the Bobcat Club, in memory of Meme Brown. Brown is a LMC volleyball alum who passed away from ovarian cancer.
  • UVa-Wise rallies to down the Bobcats in four sets

    WISE, Va. – The University of Virginia at Wise rallied after dropping the first set to the Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team to down the Bobcats in four sets Tuesday evening in non-conference action (18-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-10). The loss moves LMC’s record to 3-14 on the season.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – After playing just once in the past seven days, the Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team will get back into the swing of things this week with three matches at UVA-Wise Tuesday before hosting Belmont Abbey Friday and Bluefield State Saturday. The first two matches will begin at 7 p.m., while Saturday’s contest will begin at noon.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-14) decision to King (Tenn.) University Saturday afternoon in Bristol, Tennessee. The loss moves LMC’s record to 3-13 overall and 1-7 in conference play.

Friday’s match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start, while Saturday’s tilt is set to begin at 2 p.m.
  • Bobcats take down Erskine in four to pick up first conference win of 2017

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team picked up a 3-1 victory (25-19, 25-15, 18-25, 25-22) over Erskine College Saturday afternoon at Williams Gymnasium. The win not only marks the first Conference Carolinas victory for the Bobcats this season but it was also the first win for the Bobcats over Erskine since 2014.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – After winning the first two sets of its match Friday against Emmanuel (GA) by scores of 25-20 and 25-23, the Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team dropped the final three sets 25-22, 25-12 and 15-12 to fall to the Lions, 3-2. With the loss, the Bobcats move to 2-10 overall and 0-4 in conference play.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team will have a busy week coming up as it has three matches over a five day stretch. Lees-McRae will begin the week with a trip to Bluefield State Tuesday before hosting Emmanuel (GA) Friday and Erskine Saturday as a part of the homecoming festivities. Tuesday’s and Friday’s matches will begin at 7 p.m., while Saturday’s will start at 2 p.m.

    BELMONT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team fell in four sets to Belmont Abbey College Saturday afternoon (25-21, 25-12, 22-25, 26-24) in a Conference Carolinas contest. Senior Courtney Weathersbee led the Bobcats with her fifth double-double of the season with 32 assists and 10 digs Saturday.

The Bobcats will begin the week with a match at home against University of Virginia at Wise Wednesday evening before venturing out on the road to take on Shaw Friday and Belmont Abbey Saturday. Wednesday’s match is slated for a 7 p.m. start time, while Friday’s and Saturday’s are scheduled for 6 p.m. and noon, respectively.

    TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team rallied from a 2-0 deficit against North Greenville Saturday afternoon to force a fifth set but it fell just short as the Crusaders won the deciding frame to upend the Bobcats, 3-2 (25-21, 25-22, 24-26, 25-22, 15-12).

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Sophomore outside hitter Lexi Zangari totaled a season-high 11 kills in 19 attempts but it wasn’t enough as the Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team fell to Fayetteville State in three sets (25-21, 25-21, 25-20) Tuesday evening in Williams Gymnasium. With the loss, Lees-McRae drops to 0-5 on the season.
